I'm very happy to announce that I now have an Etsy shop for my bead embroidery kits, archival prints, some of my smaller pieces of fiber art, and (coming soon), some of my favorite hand stitching supplies. You can check it out on Etsy at LisaBinkleyBeads. There's also a link to it on the lower left of my home page (this page) on this website.
It's exciting for me to have the shop. When I was a teen and did a lot of my own garment sewing, I had a fantasy about owning a shop I'd planned to call "Naturally Sew" that would specialize in beautiful natural fabrics, threads, and yarns. (For us long-time Madison, WI residents, my imagined shop was a lot like the old "Material World" off of State Street.) More recently, every time I'd drive by a cute little cottage-style house that was for sale on Main Street in Waunakee, WI (where we lived for 8+ years), I thought about how perfect the house and location would be for a business I'd call "Sip 'n Stitch" that would serve coffee drinks, teas, amazing scones, and gorgeous yarns and embroidery supplies.
Fortunately my wise friend Susan taught me an important lesson about "The difference between the fantasies we have for our own lives and the fantasies was have for someone else's life." Alas, "Naturally Sew" and "Sip 'n Stitch" were in truth fantasy shops I'd love to frequent but not necessary own. So it's exciting to have a shop I'm thrilled to own. I also look forward to expanding and updating and sharing my shop with fellow hand-stitching lovers all over our little blue marble called Earth.
Check it out (link below), and let me know what you think! Thanks. :)
